But when Jesus was born, no one bought him a blue hat or a blue blanket or made him blue cupcakes.
Joseph and Mary lived in Nazareth, which was part of the Roman Empire. The Roman emperor commanded everyone to take part in a census in his or her hometown. Iâm guessing that people needed to be counted so each town could update their population signs. People started traveling in different directions to obey the command.
